Editor's Note: This chapter was originally adopted
in the R.O. 1966 C.S. as Chapter 2A of Title 14; and was amended by
Ord. 6 S+FG, 11-5-1992. The City of Newark enforces State Sanitary
Code Chapter XIII as amended on June 7, 1999, N.J.A.C. 8:511-1.1 et
seq.
WHEREAS, the City of Newark has heretofore established regulations
for the purpose of investigating cases of elevated blood lead levels
by the Health Officer of the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey State Department of Health and the Legislature
have adopted new regulations pertaining to such cases; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Health and Community Wellness of the
City of Newark is desirous of adopting regulations concerning lead
poisoning cases to conform to State regulations and provide standards
for the investigation of cases of elevated blood lead levels to be
made part of Title XVI of the Revised General Ordinances of the City
of Newark.
