There shall be within the Department of Health and Community Wellness a Division of Social Services, the head of which shall be the Manager, Division of Social Services.

The Division of Social Services, under the supervision of the Department of Health and Community Wellness, shall be responsible for the following duties:
a. 
Plan, initiate, organize, direct and execute City programs for the delivery of social services.
b. 
Publicize and disseminate information on the social services, activities, and opportunities available to residents of the City of Newark.
c. 
To serve as the City liaison to the Newark Private Industry Council.
