a. Group riding for purposes of this section is the transporting of
two or more passengers not in the same group whose trips have a common
point of origin and destination in New York City. The destination
in New York City may be at more than one place.
b. Except as herein provided, group riding shall be permitted only with
the consent of the passenger or passengers occupying the taxicab.
c. Group riding, as defined in paragraph a., shall be permitted at Newark
International Airport and at such other public terminals as the Municipal
Council shall, by ordinance, determine, at such times as are determined
to be necessary to achieve adequate service by a starter employed
or authorized by the Manager of Taxicabs. The starter shall control
group riding in all taxicabs coming upon the property of the Newark
International Airport and such other public terminals as the Municipal
Council shall by ordinance determine, to take on passengers.
d. At such times when group riding is permitted and a taxicab has taken
on less than three passengers, the starter shall have the sole authority
to determine when a taxicab shall depart, except that after three
passengers have been taken on, the starter shall not delay departure
of the taxicab for more than five minutes for the purpose of securing
additional passengers.
e. After the first passenger has entered the taxicab and his/her destination
in New York City has been determined other passengers whose destinations
lie generally in that destination area may be taken on to the extent
of the designed capacity of the taxicab. All passengers shall be discharged
in the order of the arrival at their respective destinations. In the
event any question arises as to the order of arrival at any destination,
the question shall be resolved in favor of the passenger who entered
the taxicab the earlier.
f. When two or more passengers enter a taxicab at the same time and
give different destinations in New York City, anyone of which is not
within the group-riding geographic limitations set forth in Section
34:1-25b., 5, the charge to those passengers within the group-riding
geographic limits shall be in accordance with the schedule of group
riding rates set forth in Section 34:1-25b., 5 and the charge to the
passenger whose destination is not within the group-riding geographic
limitation shall be on the basis of a group-riding rate for the ride
within the group-riding geographic limit and a separate trip charge
from the last destination within the group-riding geographic limit.

a. Group riding for the purpose of this section is the transporting
of two or more passengers, not in the same group, whose trips have
a common point of origin and destinations limited to certain areas
in downtown Newark, as follows:
Schedule of limited taxicab group fares to downtown Newark (Penn
Station, Erie-Lackawanna Station, or on Broad Street from Market Street
to Central Avenue or on Market Street from Raymond Plaza to Washington
Street shall be, individually, as follows:

b. All other provisions of Section
34:1-59, governing group riding to destinations in New York City, shall apply to group riding to limited destinations within the City of Newark, except that when two or more passengers enter a taxicab at the same time and give different destinations in the City of Newark, any one of which is not a group-riding area as defined in subsection
34:1-60a above, the charge to those passengers whose destination is a limited group-riding area shall be in accordance with the schedule of rates set forth in subsection
34:1-25b,3(b), and the charge to those passengers whose destination is not a limited group-riding area shall be on the basis of the group-riding rate for the ride to a limited group-riding area and a separate trip charge for the additional ride from the limited group-riding area to any other destination, the charge to be computed as any other fare between points within the City, in accordance with Section 34:1-25a.,1.

a. Group riding for the purpose of this section is the transporting of two or more passengers not in the same group and as defined in Section
34:1-59a, whose trips have a common destination which is the Meadowlands Sports Complex in the Borough of East Rutherford, New Jersey, and that destination only.
b. All other provisions of 34:1-59, governing group riding to destinations in New York City, shall apply to group riding to the Meadowlands Sports Complex, except that group rates for transportation to the Complex shall apply only when two or more passengers seek transportation to that destination only. Transportation to surrounding areas in the Borough of East Rutherford, New Jersey, shall be charged for in accordance with subsection
34:1-25b,3.
