Pursuant to the Pa. Mun. Plan. Code, being Act 247, being 53 P.S. §§ 10101 et seq., approved July 31, 1968, as amended, there is hereby created a Planning Commission in and for the Borough.

(A) 
The Planning Commission shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by Council.
(B) 
Except for the initial appointments made pursuant to this chapter, the term of each member of the Commission shall be for four years, or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. Any vacancy arising during an unexpired term shall be filled by Council for the balance of the unexpired term.
(C) 
The initial appointments to the Commission shall be made by Council as follows:
(1) 
One member shall be appointed for a term of one year;
(2) 
One member shall be appointed for a term of two years;
(3) 
One member shall be appointed for a term of three years; and
(4) 
Two members shall be appointed for terms of four years each.

The powers and duties of the Planning Commission shall be such as are given to it by the Pa. Mun. Plan. Code, being 53 P.S. §§ 10101 et seq., being Act 247, approved July 31, 1968, as amended, and by any other statute of the Commonwealth and by any ordinance of the Borough, provided that such ordinances are enacted in accordance with the foregoing statutes of the Commonwealth.
