and the Police Department, copies of which agreement are on file with

There is hereby established a full-time Police Department in
and for the Borough.

(A) The Police Department shall consist of the following personnel:

Such patrol officers as Council shall from time to time designate
by resolution.
(B) Council shall from time to time determine the number of personnel
in the above categories as are required to conduct the police affairs
of the Borough.

All personnel shall be appointed to the Police Department in
accordance with rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission.

All members of the Police Department shall perform their respective
duties as set forth in the Borough Code and shall be directed by the
Mayor as to the manner in which they shall perform their duties.

The Mayor may appoint sufficient special police officers during
emergencies to Ensure the health, safety and welfare of the public,
which appointments shall be ratified by Council prior to payment of
any compensation to any special police officers.
